Recently, we published a review and analysis of post-construction monitoring data from Victoria. The results represent the first set of multi-site, regional bird and bat mortality estimates from Australian wind turbines. For the first time, we can estimate the per-turbine mortality for individual species, and compare the incidence of collision for different species. We can also demonstrate the impact of different sized turbine on bird and bat mortality. These results are the first step towards a regional understanding of the cumulative impact of turbines collisions on specific local species.
